Bald eagle, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
I always have good luck whenever I see a bald eagle, or better yet, when one flies over me. My breath is always taken away in the presence of these majestic birds. Is this an award winning photograph? No. I wish I could have gotten closer. However my reason for taking this photograph and the one in my next blog post, was to remind myself, that life is like photography and vice versa. You have one moment. That is all. All we have is this one moment.
I was driving down the highway, and from a distance I could see two bald eagles in a tree. So do I pull over on the highway? Or just keep on going to my destination?
Too many times I have just driven by.
On this day, I pulled over and thought it was a perfect opportunity to practice photography in challenging conditions (from below and not close enough) … but more importantly to remember, that IF I did not take this photo at this very moment, it would never happen again likely. How many moments do we miss in life, thinking we get a second chance? Sometimes we do get 2nd chances, but most often not.
