With formal post-secondary education in music, music therapy, fine art and design, it’s impossible not to have emotion, feelings and energy come into everything that I do. Music and art are life.
I see my life as a creative arts smorgasbord.
In photography and fine art we have composition, light, line, form, texture, rhythm, shape, space, color, value, harmony, balance and repetition.
Music has many of those same inherent qualities, but we add in melody along with silence and sound working hand in hand.
As a photographer, I think about and intuitively feel all of this while outdoors with camera in hand.
At this time, I have set my paintbrushes aside while devoting my time to photography.
However, as an abstract painter, I do not feel I have ever left painting; my camera is my paintbrush, the lens is my voice; life and the world around me is a canvas on which to play.
