Twitter gives you 140 characters (including punctuation and spaces) in which to communicate your message. That’s what I love about Twitter. It challenges me to be creative, to think about less is more, and how I can say a lot in a very short and quick time.
With only 140 characters, there is no room to put in a long link.
So that is where URL shorteners come in.
I’ve tried them all, and what is my favorite? Google Wins. Here’s the link for you to bookmark Google URL Shortener or here it is: http://goo.gl/
Below is a screenshot, and how do you use it? Simply cut and paste your long URL from your …. right into the box, click, and bingo! Your shortened URL, ready for Twitter. Simply cut and paste it into your Tweet.
